About this deal

The C-D6 feels sturdy and has a good amount of weight to it, though at roughly 4 kg it’s not too heavy to carry. The walnut-effect design gives it a classy, premium look and adds to the depth of sound. The Pure Evoke C-D6 is one of the more expensive radios on the market at the moment, though it’s there are several more high-end models out there.

One of the most popular apps for turning your phone into a remote is UNDOK, which is compatible with the Roberts Stream94i, Roberts Revival iStream 3, Revo SuperSystem and Revo SuperConnect, among others. They require both the radio and your phone to be connected to WiFi. As far as we’re aware, there isn’t an app that can work as a remote control just using Bluetooth and not WiFi. Give your music extra bass, depth and clarity so you can finally hear what you've been missing. Powerful tuned stereo speakers combine with the wood casing and the advanced digital amplifier to deliver class-leading audio. Whatever music you love, you’ll love it even more with Evoke C-D6. On the front of the device, you’ll see the iconic Pure logo, two sizable stereo speakers, tuning and volume knobs, along with a range of buttons for controlling your CD player and radio. Some of these radios cost more than the regular Evoke D4 with Bluetooth radio, but they are a good option if matching the radio to your decor is important to you. The Pure Evoke C-D6 features a clear LCD display, providing easy visibility and navigation through various settings. Its dimensions are as follows: width of 370 millimeters, depth of 223 millimeters, and height of 135 millimeters, making it compact and space-efficient. The radio weighs 3800 grams, ensuring stability and sturdiness during use. As part of the Evoke all-in-one music system collection, you can expect an easy-to-use interface with the CD-6, including intuitive and simple controls. The Evoke C-D6 is also impressive when it comes to sound quality. Spotify Connect* gives you instant access to millions of songs on your Evoke C-F6, using the Spotify app on your mobile or tablet to directly connect and control your music wirelessly. Built-in Bluetooth lets you choose your favourite music and send it wirelessly direct from your mobile or tablet. If being able to stream music from a Bluetooth-enabled device like a smartphone or laptop is important to you, the Evoke D4 with Bluetooth is a good option. Otherwise you should go for the regular Evoke D4, which costs less.

This radio could work well as a bedside radio since it has two alarms with a snooze function and a sleep timer. It has a decent amount of volume, so it would also be a good choice for the living room. The Evoke C-D6’s CD player has a slot-loading design so you just push the CD in rather than placing it on a tray. The CD player seems to be temperamental as many buyers have had issues with it stopping working after a few months of use, or being very slow to read CDs.

Performance and use

If being able to listen to thousands of radio stations via the internet sounds exciting, the Evoke F3 could be a good buy. It’s a very modern and reliable radio with lots of smart features, and can connect with your phone, laptop and other devices. Part of the comprehensive Pure Evoke line, which also includes the C-D4 and the C-F8, the Evoke C-D6 is a mid-level all-in-one radio created with a focus on functionality and style. While the digital display on this product isn’t in colour, it’s clear enough to read even from a few feet away, which is a nice bonus. A closer look at the display might make you think you’re using an internet radio! Unlike the radios looked at so far, the Evoke F3 is an internet radio. This means you can connect to WiFi and listen to Spotify or the 20,000+ internet radio stations from across the world. You can also connect to your phone or other device via Bluetooth to use your radio as a wireless speaker.

Some radios allow you to use your phone as a remote control via an app that connects your phone to the radio. You can also get an Evoke D2 bluetooth DAB radio with a papercut casing designed by Rob Ryan , or one with a Sanderson wallpaper design, if you want something really quirky. You’ll love the ultra-clear, easy to read 2.8" colour display that displays extra information and brings a splash of colour to your listening. By the time we finished our Pure Evoke CD-6 review, it was clear to us that this radio is one that you can easily fall in love with.

The all-in-one audio system of your dreams

We really appreciated how immersive it felt to use this radio and the fact that we could access Bluetooth streaming as well as DAB.
